Gateway Apartments’ signature annual social initiative, Knitting for the Elderly, has been running for the past six years during the Christmas period to show their care for the needy. Volunteers of around 20 Residents and Associate Members of the Gateway Apartments sent love and care to senior citizens, by giving out hand-made scarves and gift packs to the elderly during visit to The Salvation Army Hoi Lam Centre for Senior Citizens.

Despite the cold weather, Gateway Apartments’ volunteer team has joined the elderly to play games and have fun together. At the end of the event, hand-made scarves and gift packs were distributed to the elderly. Each hand-made scarf is unique and consisted of our love and care to the elderly.

Around 150 pieces of scarves with Christmas goodies were given out to each of them. Both the volunteers and the elderly enjoyed the gathering and are looking forward to next year’s event.
