Volunteers from Gateway Apartments visited The Salvation Army Chuk Yuen Centre for Senior Citizens recently as the holiday season approached. A total of 100 goodie bags were distributed to the elderly. The volunteers enjoyed a warm and fulfilling morning with the seniors, providing a comforting experience on this chilly winter day.

A representative from the Gateway Apartments volunteer team extended greetings to the seniors during the event and expressed gratitude to the Salvation Army staff for organizing the event. The volunteers shared their excitement for this annual event and mentioned that they had thoughtfully prepared Christmas gifts, hoping to convey warmth and blessings to all the seniors.

In addition to playing games, the volunteers assisted the seniors in creating their own homemade Christmas ornaments, fostering a spirit of kindness and compassion throughout the event. Before concluding the gathering, the volunteers distributed the goodie bags and took a group photograph to capture the special memory. Both the volunteers and seniors cherished the gathering and eagerly look forward to next year’s event.
